If you have an interest in classic firearm forensic identification then this is the volume for you!I will admit, having gotten this as a no-cost Kindle book, that was expecting more on the order of "what is this firearm" but found that this is an exhaustive coverage of bullet forensics and the science and art of matching bullets to the gun that fired them. There is an exhaustive section on the science of tool marks, rifling and what to look for and be careful of.
There is a large section on various pistols, their specifications and noted deviations, and the cartridge they were chambered for.
The one lack, and sorry missed, is that the original apparently had a number of photographs and illustrations that are not found in this Kindle version. There are also summary tables, referred to in the text, that are not found in this version. I read this on the Kindle Fire HDX so was looking forward to high quality photos that do not exist!
Overall if you, like me, have an interest in forenisic science this is well worth you time to obtain (especially at the price) and read. To use as a textbook you would need to tract down the print version.

This is a great resource for antique firearms and their values. It has lots of excellent information on gun collecting in the opening chapters. The rest of the book is well organized and comprehensive. This is one of the best books out there.
Text references numbered figures. The problem is in the version they are not included. That is until around Fig.100 and then they are so small that the detail can't be seen
This book covers virtually every type of weapon you can think of, with the focus being on pistols and revolvers. I particularly enjoyed the section on bullet calibers and found it extremely useful. I look forward to reading more of this book, and it will be a great addition to my gun collection.
More of a forensic manual for the csi types. Written in the early 20th century.
